Scribd.com Review: Poetry

The raven This online app. allows you to publish and discover documents on the internet. Scribd.com works like YouTube, but you could browse and upload texts instead of videos. You could find and share documents in a Flash format that basically loads quickly and it would be easy to read. Searching through the site gets messy, but if you're into browsing and sharing quirky and current documents, Scribd has what you are pretty much looking for. Company reps claim that you'll find more information than on Wikipedia—about 5 billion words from Scribd against 2 billion from Wikipedia. I have used the app and I find it pretty useful to get some good information. A example of a scribed document that I have found would be the 3 page slide of " The Raven" written by Edgar Allen Poe in 1845

Hockey Weekend Post

VANCOUVER, — The Americans didn't believe in miracles.

And they pulled off the biggest Olympic hockey win since the Miracle on Ice, stunning Canada 5-3 on Sunday to advance to the quarterfinals of an already mixed-up tournament.

Brian Rafalski scored two goals, Ryan Miller held off a flurry of shots and the Americans quieted a pro-Canada crowd that came to cheer its dream team, only to see it upstaged by a bunch of kids.

One day short of the 30th anniversary of the country's greatest hockey victory – the unfathomable win over the Soviet Union in Lake Placid – these underrated Americans were faster, more disciplined and more determined than Canada's collection of all-stars.

Dallas citizen Tasered

Dallas Township police used a Taser on a Misericordia University student from Bloomsburg after she kicked an officer and tried to escape from a patrol car Tuesday.

Felicia Pellitteri, faces charges of aggravated assault, resisting arrest, escape, and disorderly conduct

The incident started around 3 p.m., when Pellitteri became unruly in Misericordia's administration building and was asked to leave by campus security officers.

Dallas Township police officers spoke with Pellitteri but she wouldn't follow directions and tried to get back into the administration building. When police blocked her way, Pellitteri kicked Officer Liparela, police said.

Pellitteri was arrested, handcuffed and put in the back of the Dallas Township patrol car. She freed herself from the handcuffs and tried to escape by crawling through the front seat, police said. Pellitteri kicked Liparela again when he attempted to secure her in the rear of the police car. He used a Taser to subdue her so she could be taken to the station for processing, police said.

This is just another example of police using tasers, should they be allowed to? Is the risk from using it bigger then the risk of not using it?
